    Prospect Park – Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Tower Hill area of prospect park

Anchored by the city's famous Witch's Hat Water Tower, Tower Hill is the largest section of Prospect Park and the heart of the historic neighborhood. The section is bounded by SE University Ave to the north, St. Paul to the east, SE Franklin Avenue to the south and SE Arthur Ave to the west. It's best known for its tangle of winding streets dotted with apartment buildings, duplexes and single-family homes, many more than a century old.

The street names in this area of Prospect Park evoke British origins: Arthur Avenue, Barton Avenue, Bedford Avenue, Clarence Avenue, Malcolm Avenue, Melbourne Avenue, Orlin Avenue, and Seymour Avenue.

The Witch's Hat Tower and Pratt School

The Witch's Hat Tower was built in 1913 atop the highest natural land area in Minneapolis. Today the structure is part of Tower Hill Park, a Minneapolis City Park. In the shadow of the tower sits Pratt Community School, a K-5 Minneapolis Public School and home to the neighborhood's Community Education program.
