About Luxton

The Community Center building in Luxton Park is named after famous Minneapolis Tribune gardening columnist and Prospect Park resident, George Luxton, author of the book: Flower Growing in the North. Luxton Park is administered by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. Ice skating, softball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, and wading pool available.

Luxton's amenities include: Computer Lab, Craft Room, Gym, Indoor Court, Kitchen, Meeting Multipurpose Room, Adult Sports, Aerobics-Fitness, After School, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Field Trips, Girls Group, Boys Group, Open Gym, Seniors, Youthline, Youth Sports.

Luxton Park is host to both the neighborhood Fire and Ice Celebration in February and a neighborhood summer movie night and a neighborhood summer concert.
