    Prospect Park – Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Prospect Park Association Environment Committee is committed to making a positive impact through engaging in environmental sustainability efforts and concerns.

The Environment Committee is responsible for promoting and implementing sound policies and practices throughout the neighborhood to protect and enhance the local and global environment. We work on projects of importance to air quality, noise pollution, water or land health, greenspace, wildlife, and other concerns in the interest of preserving our natural environment. From providing education to managing community gardens (applied learning opportunities) and advocating clean energy sources (engaging in research), the Environment Committee strives to maintain and improve our quality of life.

The Environment Committee meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Contact Del Hampton (environment@prospectparkmpls.org) for more information.

Additional Goals:

  • Endorse and support recycling organics
  • Support the understanding of developers engaging in sound environmental practices.
  • Create meaningful internship opportunities tied to Environment Committee goals.
  • Protecting the Mississippi River bluff
