    Prospect Park – Minneapolis, Minnesota

Prospect Park Association (PPA) Community Meeting
6:30pm Monday, December 4th

Four neighborhood organizations, Prospect Park Association (PPA), Southeast Como Improvement Association (SECIA), Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association, and the Nicollet Island/East Bank Neighborhood Association received a $20,000 grant from the City of Minneapolis to explore merging.

As part of the grant, Willow Consulting worked with three representatives from each of the four neighborhood organizations and created a Merger Exploratory Report.

A merger is one of the financial strategies PPA is exploring to ensure we can continue fulfilling our mission to serve Prospect Park despite the significant decrease in City of Minneapolis funding.

No decisions have been made yet. The board of each of the four neighborhood organizations is expected to decide by February whether or not they intend to merge. Neighborhood organizations that decide to merge will work with legal counsel to develop a Merger Plan Agreement including new governing documents such as articles of incorporation, mission, bylaws, and also a staffing plan, new organization name, and more. Read the Merger Exploratory Report for more on the timeline and process.

At PPA’s community meeting on December 4th they’ll be a brief presentation followed by opportunities for feedback, questions, concerns, etc.
